Outside New York City, few people are familiar with the Morgenthau family and the impact they’ve had on power and politics in the United States. Andrew Meier’s new book, “Morgenthau: Power, Privilege, and the Rise of an American Dynasty” chronicles the history of the family, telling the stories of Lazarus, Henry Sr, Henry Jr, and Robert “The Boss” Morgenthau which are often intertwined with such historical figures as the Roosevelts and the Kennedys. This interview with the author gives an introduction to Meier’s book and the Morgenthau family.
