    Pianist Paul Ford took a non-traditional route to the Broadway scene, earning a decades-long career fueled by his love of musical theater. Now retired, he spends his time collecting and re-creating scores of the classics. He’s also written a memoir. His book, “Lord Knows, At Least I Was There: Working with Stephen Sondheim,” delves into a behind the scenes history of Broadway during the late 20th century, featuring entertaining tales of numerous celebrities and a very personal look at his own struggles. In this interview, Ford discusses his path to Broadway and what it was like to work with some of the greats.
