Everyone in St. Louis knows about the majesty of the Fabulous Fox Theatre, but few know what stories the walls backstage have to tell. Carl Vogt, who has worked at The Fox since it reopened in 1982, pulls back the curtain on one of the most fascinating sights in St. Louis theatre history.

For over 30 years every performer to have graced it’s stage has also had the opportunity to leave their mark on the backstage walls. Large elaborate murals accompanied by the signatures of actors, crew members, comedians, and musicians decorate these hidden corridors, each addition adding to a vast visual history of one of St. Louis’ most astounding landmarks.
