The Foundry Art Centre presents Ceramic Centric, which collects works from 33 different artists exploring the versatility and pushing the boundaries of ceramic art. At least 50% of every entry had to be comprised of clay, opening up the possibilities for mixed media while still holding to a distinct theme for the show. The diversity of the pieces on show, paired with the overwhelming display of craftsmanship makes for a throughly stimulating exhibit. Also on display is a collection papier-mache sculptures by Elizabeth Conn, but these pieces aren’t your run of the mill papier-mache. Conn has developed a technique that gives her sculptures the appearance of smooth glossy stonework. For more information please visit www.foundryartcentre.org.
