Colonizing the Past at Kemper Art Museum

    The Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum’s Teaching Gallery is currently hosting an exhibit curated by Kathryn Wilson, senior lecturer in the Department of Classics in Arts & Sciences at Washington University, entitled “Colonizing the Past: Constructing Race in Ancient Greece and Rome.”
    This exhibition explores the concept of race in relation to Greco-Roman antiquity, and how later historians imposed their racial biases on these ancient civilizations.
