Ferguson – Florissant School District appoints 4 new principals, 2 assistant principals, athletic director

    ferguson-florissant-school-districtFLORISSANT, MO. – Ferguson-Florissant School District acting has announced the appointments of new principals for Combs Elementary School, Griffith Elementary School, Berkeley Middle School and McCluer High School; assistant principals at Berekeley Middle School and McCluer South-Berkeley High School; and athletic director at McCluer High School for the 2014-15 academic year.

     

    Approved by the Ferguson-Florissant School District Board of Education are Ms. Tangie Oglesby as principal of Combs Elementary School; Mr. Sean Joyce as principal at Griffith Elementary School; Ms. Sharleta Williams as principal of Berkeley Middle School; Ms. Jane Crawford as principal at McCluer High School; Mr. James Allison as assistant principal at Berkeley Middle School; Mr. Jeffrey Tandler as assistant principal of McCluer South-Berkeley High School; and Mr. Chad Kish as athletic director at McCluer High School.

     

    “We are pleased to add individuals with such strong educational credentials to leadership roles at four of our schools for the 2014-15 academic year,” said Lawrence Larrew, interim superintendent of the Ferguson-Florissant School District.  “Each of these educators has a proven track record in providing direction and guidance for pupils across a broad area of studies that we believe will greatly benefit our students.”

     

    Oglesby has been with the Ferguson-Florissant School District since 2008, when she was hired as curriculum coordinator for gifted education and communication arts.  Most recently, she served the District for two years as interim principal at Airport Elementary School.  She holds a master’s degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

     

    Joyce has worked in the Ferguson-Florissant School District for 12 years, serving as an interim principal, teacher and instructional coach.  He has expertise in data analysis, curriculum implementation and positive behavior intervention systems.  Joyce earned his bachelor’s of science degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and a master’s degree in school administration from Lindenwood University.

     

    Williams has been with the District since 2006, when she was hired as a math teacher at Berkeley Middle School.  Since January 2010 she has served as dean of students at Berkeley Middle School.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  She anticipates completing her doctorate of philosophy in education leadership and policy studies in August.

     

    Crawford has worked in the District at McCluer High School since 1993, when she was hired as a teacher.  In 1997, she became an administrator at the school and held positions including acting dean of students and assistant principal.  Most recently, Crawford served as assistant principal of instruction.  She holds a master’s degree in education and a bachelor’s degree in English from Truman State University.

     

    Allison previously taught in the Francis Howell School District at Barnwell Middle School and Francis Howell North High School.  He has training and development in the areas of professional learning communities, school operations and curriculum planning and development.  He has a bachelor’s degree in history and a master of arts in education from Lindenwood University, and is scheduled to complete a doctorate in education in instructional leadership in 2014.

     

    Tandler most recently served as an administrative intern through the Francis Howell School District’s Leadership in Educational Administration Program and as a drama instructor and theater director at Francis Howell North High School.  He also is an adjunct instructor in the Education Methods Department at Lindenwood University, and currently is pursuing his doctorate in education at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  He holds bachelor’s degrees in communication and political science and master’s degrees in educational administration and education with an emphasis on secondary education.

     

    Kish previously served as an administrator and athletic director with the University City School District and Riverview Gardens School District, and most recently as men’s basketball coach and physical education instructor at Lamar State College in Texas.  He holds bachelor’s degrees in education and liberal arts with an emphasis in athletic administration, a specialist degree in educational administration from Missouri Baptist University and a master’s degree in education.
