    Garden Mini Herb Gift Set

    Supplies needed:

    • Mini paper mache clay pots
    • Acrylic paint
    • Mini craft sticks
    • Lid of square jewelry box
    • Card stock
    • Tacky glue
    • Rounder corner punch
    • Kraft card stock (or mini envelope)
    • Colored pencils
    • Seeds or young herb seedlings
    • Potting soil

    1. Begin by drilling a drainage hole on the bottom of each pot.

    Step 1

    2. Paint the top lip of each pot, then let it dry.

    3. Next, cut your cardstock into 1.5″ wide x 3″ tall pieces, and round the corner with your corner rounder punch. Draw the herb name (and picture if you’d like!) onto the card stock. Then glue a mini craft stick to the back of each piece of cardstock to make a little sign for each of your flower pots.

    4. Use the kraft note card set to make a plant care instruction sheet for your gift set. I chose to write my instructions on a piece of white (and use a kraft sleeve as an envelope). Don’t forget to let your recipient know that the kraft flower pots are temporary holders for the herbs! (The pots aren’t waterproof, and sadly won’t last through too many waterings.)

    5. Next, fill the pots with potting soil and seeds or young herb seedlings.

    6. Pack the dirt in, then stick the appropriate seed sign into each pot.

6.To package and gift each set, place four pots into the lid of the square jewelry box, and slip the care instructions in between the pots.  If you are afraid the soil will spill, you can either put it all into a larger carrying tray, or you can try wrapping the set in cellophane.
