The Wells Fargo-funded Innovation Incubator (IN2) seeks to connect promising start-up companies around the country with cutting edge science to help move breakthrough technologies closer to the marketplace. In collaboration with the Danforth Center, the IN2 program was recently expanded to include companies in ag-tech. From 36 companies, five were selected to be the first ag-tech “cohort” of IN2. Danforth Center scientists are working closely with this initial round of companies seeking to reduce crop pests, improve remote sensing on the farm, increase productivity of indoor agriculture, and improve soil quality. The program is also strengthening our local innovation ecosystem, particularly 39 North.
