Katarra Parson

Growing up as a deeply shy and very sheltered child in the underserved community of Wellston, Katarra Parson fell in love with playing the piano while her mom chatted with friends after church. Years later, she is an accomplished performer and composer – but still struggles with the stereotypes associated with her upbringing and the obstacles her gender faces in a male dominated business. As bigger opportunities come her way, Parson remains committed to creating awareness around mental health issues, inequality and poverty – using her music to give others the courage to fight battles she herself has faced.
