Mark you calendars, last chance for a summer get-a-way

Hip 96.3 HD-3 presents the free, inaugural Hermann Wine and Jazz Festival on Saturday, August 22 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Hermann Amphitheater.  Tucked away in the hillside vineyards of the Missouri River Valley, you can enjoy the best of five regional jazz groups, world-class wines, German cuisine and FREE admission.

The headliner features high-energy, contemporary jazz trumpet virtuoso / vocalist Dawn Weber.  There is a lot of improvisation as they create “on the spot,” and audiences love to groove along as the band communicates with each other. Anything goes with this monster performer and she will not disappoint.

    Line-Up

    • 1:00 pm:  Tommy Halloran’s Guerrilla Swing
    • 2:45 pm:  St. Louis Jazz All-Stars
    • 4:30 pm:  P’tah Williams & Tracer
    • 6:15 pm:  Bach to the Future
    • 8:00 pm: Dawn Weber

    World-Class Wineries

About a third of the statewide total of wines come from the wineries in and around the historic German community of Hermann, Missouri.  Four different wineries will be on-site serving a wide variety of their finest vintages:  Adam Puchta Winery, Hermannhof Winery, OakGlenn Winery and Stone Hill Winery.

    Contemporary World Cuisine

Delicious food is a Hermann tradition and you need not look any further than the amphitheater venue; everything from knockwurst to bratwurst and cheeses, to schnitzel and spaetzle.  The Vintage Restaurant will be on hand, along with the Hermann Jaycees, and Imo’s Pizza.

Come for the old world charm.  Stay for the jazz and culture.  The Hermann Amphitheater is located at the intersection of Fourth and Gutenberg Streets (see map here).  You will need to bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets.

Lodging is available for guests wanting to stay over the weekend.  With more than 300 guest rooms —  cozy cottages to luxury suites — there is lodging for every taste and budget.  Amtrak offers round-trip tickets for a nominal fee.  For more information visit www.hermannjazz.com.

Sponsor support for the inaugural Hermann Wine & Jazz Festival comes from Hip 96.3 HD-3, The Hermann Wine Trail, DeBlaze and Associates PR, Autumn Hill Jazz, and Dave Backschies Sound & Lighting.
