For tickets, visit www.maxandlouie.com or call Brown Paper Tickets at 1-800-838-3006. Quills runs through Sunday, August 17.

Quills is a “wickedly witty, erotically charged play about the conflict between imprisoned Marquis de Sade (infamous, irreverent literary bad boy of the 18th Century France) and the keepers entrusted with silencing the perverse talks that drip from his ink-laden quill. De Sade’s only sword is his pen; his opponents are are armed with far deadlier weapons. Quills explores the delicate and often malleable line between morality and convenience of censorship and sexuality.”

“Doug Wright’s raffish new comedy, part theatre of the ridiculous, part comedy of manners, and part Grand Guignol, successfully blends intentional archness and bold humor to create a theatrical experience of real wit.” – The New York Times
