Meet the Artists: A Saint Louis Art Fair And HEC-TV Collaborative Project

By: Christina Chastain, Marketing and Strategic Partnerships Coordinator

HEC-TV is proud to partner with the Saint Louis Art Fair and be the Exclusive Media Sponsor and creator of “Meet the Artists,” a new and original series designed to increase your understanding of the 2016 Saint Louis Art Fair artists and deepen your appreciation for their work.

The “Meet the Artists” project is a piece of art all on its own. This series of video profiles showcases the individual artists you’ll see at the Saint Louis Art Fair this weekend. We’ll give you their story, their process, and details about the artists and their work that you can’t get anywhere else.

These video profiles will be available to you at the Art Fair through touch screen kiosks in the HEC-TV tent (located at the corner of Meramec and Forsyth), on the HEC-TV mobile friendly website, and on the Saint Louis Art Fair app.

We believe “Meet the Artists” will generate enthusiasm, educate, and benefit both the patrons and the artists. After-all, artists and art lovers support one another!

Have you bought a piece of art at the Fair and want to let your friends and family know about your new and exciting purchase? Share the “Meet the Artists” video profile on social media!

Did you see a piece of art that interests you but want to think about? Save the “Meet the Artists” video to your HEC-TV website profile!

Didn’t have a chance to talk to the artist personally? Are you curious about who they are and why they do what they do? The “Meet the Artists” project is making this possible!

    Come see us at our booth located at the corner of Forsyth and Maryland Friday, Sept. 9 from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 10 from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.; and Sunday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

(Before the fair, watch all the interviews, here: http://bit.ly/2bDOGnl, and don’t forget to download the Saint Louis Art Fair app to watch them this weekend at the fair!)

    ART AND COMMUNITY

Research shows that art impacts the individual and community in a multitude of beneficial ways. For the individual, art reduces delinquency in high-risk youth, increases efficacy and self-esteem, and enhances the ability to work with others. For the community; art increases tourism, fosters a “creative milieu” spurring economic growth in creative industries, builds community identity, and pride leading to positive community norms, such as diversity, tolerance, and free expression. Art has also proven to reduce neighborhood crime and delinquency.

For these reasons and so many more, thank you for supporting the arts and the Saint Louis Art Fair, and thank you for checking out “Meet the Artists,” a project of the Art Fair and HEC-TV St. Louis’ leading producer of educational, arts, and cultural television.
