Meet the Elk Range Band who’s impromptu performance on a Snowy Colorado Canyon Highway went Viral

Colorado Blue Grass Band, Elk Range, instantly became famous worldwide when their impromptu performance on a closed Snowy Colorado Mountain Canyon Highway was captured on video. The video quickly went viral world wide with over three million views. The idea was inspired by the band’s harmonica player, Betty Hoops who was traveling with two of the four Elk Range band members, Ken Gentry (Mandolin/Vocals/Songwriter), and Hugh Phillips (upright Bass/Vocals). Curis Fiore (Guitar/Vocals/Songwriter) was able to get ahead before the closed highway, but that didn’t stop Elk Range from lifting up everyone’s five hours stranded on the snowy mountain canyon highway. We caught up with all of the Elk Range band members when they were in St. Louis performing at the Venice Cafe and recorded their performance of the title track from their album, Long Windy Road. Special thanks to The Venice Cafe Staff and Owner Jeff Lockheed.
