I Love Jazz travels to the Focal Point in Maplewood and captures a performance of “Bach to the Future” a group that takes Classical music and themes and gives it a jazz twist with a mixture of modern instruments and jazz time signatures. Correspondent Cordell Whitlock visits St. Louis Jam sessions and finds this tradition of experience shared, limits expanded, and new talent developed is right at home here in our town. Our “Jazz Gem” features Italian jazz pianist Rossano Sportiello, performing Chopin as you’ve never heard it before. And on “Building Blocks of jazz”, Phil Dunlap and his guest look at jazz drumming and drummers.
