PAVILIONS: Nested Worlds, exploring augmented reality with Van McElwee

PAVILIONS, produced by HEARding Cats Collective, is a playful interactive performance that explores augmented reality through each individual’s cell phone. Each animated pavilion resembles glass walls and has a different pastel hue. Participants are allowed to literally step from one world into another as the sounds move and intersect around you. This work brings augmented reality and Many Worlds Theory into alignment. This is the second performance of PAVILIONS and the collective plans to travel worldwide with this extremely portable exhibit. Van and his son Casper McElwee work together on visual aspects while Rich O’Donnell performs a live six-channel music installation. The Augmented Reality app is created by Rampant Interactive.
