Since the late 1970s The Dairy Barn Arts Center in Athens, Ohio has been presenting and jurying the Quilt National. It’s an international art exhibit featuring contemporary quilt art, and it’s making its biggest touring stop in St. Charles, Missouri. With the exception of its original run in Ohio, The Foundry Art Centre is the only other venue hosting the exhibition in its entirety.

Foundry Executive Director Mellissa Whitwam explains how these quilts aren’t like the ones you might use when you go to bed, but are unique works of art, designed to be displayed.
