Rewriting History: Wash U Archaeologist Sheds New Light on Indigenous Tribal Culture

    New research on the post-colonization life of the Muskogee Nation may rewrite history.
    A Washington University archaeologist says that the tribe continued its traditions long after the arrival of Spanish explorers. The Muscogee Nation is one of the five tribes with legal claim to parts of Oklahoma after a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
