SLAM Explores the Art of Innovation with “Thomas Struth: Nature & Politics”

Over the past decade Thomas Struth has traveled across the globe, documenting cutting-edge technology from viewpoints rarely seen by the public. “Nature & Politics,” the latest exhibition at the Saint Louis Art Museum allows audiences to delve into the world of science, human ingenuity, and the evolving nature of reality in the era of rapid technological change. The enormous photographic prints mesmerize, challenge, and sometimes dwarf the viewer. The images represent complex questions regarding humankind’s harnessing of nature and the sociological fallout when progress outpaces our political sophistication and our sense of humanity. “Nature & Politics” runs through January 21, 2018.
