State of the Arts: Spring 2013

State of the Arts returns with a new episode on HEC-TV March 24 at 7 pm. Completely revamped with new graphics and a lineup featuring the region’s best in art, music, theater — even puppetry — means a powerful new program for State of the Arts.

“The concept of State of the Arts is to define art broadly because, simply put, we believe that art should be accessible to everyone,” said Producer Kathy Bratkowski. “While our stories typically venture beyond ‘high art,’ we pride ourselves on introducing St. Louis to the great working artists in our region.”

Paul Schankman hosts this episode from Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, a place where artists find inspiration and the community discovers great art.

“We recorded this month’s State of the Arts from Foundry Art Centre because it is a place where artists and the community truly connect,” Bratkowski said.

State of the Arts is a seven time Emmy award-winning program that airs on HEC-TV Sundays and Thursdays at 7 pm.

HEC-TV is St. Louis’ leading producer of education, arts and cultural television programming and can be seen on Charter digital channel 989, over the air channel 2.2, U-verse channel 99, and on the web at hectv.staging.wpengine.com.
