There’s no doubt families will want to be outdoors this summer and that often includes barbecues and other gatherings near water. During the Covid pandemic, families installed and purchased a record number of pools. But those gatherings can also be dangerous for young children. Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1 to 4. That’s why members of a local family are on a mission of swim education and safety. As Nancy Pasternak reports, this summer they are focusing on vulnerable communities.
