The Healing Power of Sound

The brain is an electrochemical organ that responds to frequencies. Frequencies produce sounds and vibrations which has a calming effect on the central nervous system. These frequencies can change the physical, emotional and spiritual structures of body. Singing bowls are the instruments used to produce the sounds and vibrations that can lessen pain, improve sleep, reduce anger, improve blood pressure, improve respiratory rate, reduce depression and improve the overall general well-being of a person. The practice is called sound therapy, an ancient practice that uses bowls for religious and spiritual ceremonies, as well as meditation. Lisa Grezlak is a licensed therapist and the founder of SVOUND, a meditative experience that “bathes” the listener in the healing properties of sound. This segment of Spotlight we’ll take a journey into the Healing Power of Sound.
