The Incomparable Robin Williams

Serene, quiet: those are probably the last words most people would think of to describe comedian Robin Williams. But, that’s how New York Times reporter Dave Itzkoff remembers Williams’ voice during interviews with him in 2008 and 2009. Itzkoff drew on those interviews as well as conversations with more than 100 of Williams’ friends and family members, plus Williams’ archive of script notes and letters to paint a full color picture of the jam-packed life of the 63-year-old. Itzkoff talks about the many publicly unknown aspects of Williams’ life, career and death. This is a conversation that reflects on the man who was a singular talent, unlike anyone before or since.
