The New Face of Karaoke

    There is a new look to karaoke arriving in the midwest. It is a higher end, sometimes more private version of the raucous, out of tune, night on the town we all know.
    W Karaoke opened in St. Louis’ Delmar Loop with a very different feel. Lighting and sound are top of the line. The decor is high-priced as well. And patrons have the choice of showing off their voices in public, or moving with friends to one of several private rooms, where they can cut loose without the crowd. Owners say this is the way it’s being done in China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam, but, with the exception of the coasts, this is very new to the U.S.
