The “New” Grapes of Wrath

    This summer, Opera Theater of St. Louis is premiering a shortened version of “The Grapes of Wrath.” The original opera was almost four hours long. Paul Schankman talks with the composer about how to opera was invented, and then reinvented for leaner economic times, just like the characters in the story itself.
