Workshop Over DSLR for Cinema

Midwest Filmmaker Workshops announce their fourth workshop in their inaugural series entitled, DSLR for Cinema. This day-long presentation will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm at Bad Dog Pictures, located at 1501 S. Kingshighway in St. Louis, Missouri.

The DSLR for Cinema workshop will feature the ins and outs of shooting for today’s entertainment and media outlets, and will be presented by respected industry professional Jon Michael Ryan.

Jon Michael Ryan is a Cinematographer based out of Saint Louis, Missouri. He works both commercially and in the documentary world, and has extensive experience across multiple camera platforms ranging from the DSLR to Digital Cinema cameras.

Ryan has deployed DSLR’s on everything from commercials to shorts to music videos to documentaries, and believes first and foremost that strong knowledge of the medium should always precede knowledge of a camera.

During the DSLR for Cinema workshop, Jon Michael Ryan will teach attendees how to make DSLR footage as elegant as anything shot on a “pro” camera. The workshop will cover lighting, lenses on different brands and levels of cameras, from the Best Buy special to modified Canons. Ryan will also cover the often overlooked, but critical, audio capture for DSLR cameras.

Registration is now available to the general public for DSLR for Cinema via the Midwest Filmmaker Workshops website – www.midwestfilmmaker.com.

The regular cost of attending this workshop session is $90 per person. A discount rate of $75 is being offered for “early bird” registration by June 15th. The discounted rate is also available for Students and Seniors with a valid ID. Tickets will also be available at the door the day of the event for $100.
