In just three years, Carver Elementary went from daily disciplinary issues and dozens of out of school suspensions to a much calmer, joyful atmospere. Using positive incentives and behavioral modifications, the school is seeing success. We visit the ‘scholars’ at the school to see these incentives such a coding, chess and dance in place. In lieu of out of school suspensions, students are doing yoga and talking with a staff member in a ‘reflection room’.
