SirenGPS created emergency management software to help first responders find people faster when they call 911 from cell phones. For individuals signed up to use the free app, the caller’s precise location, personal and medical information is shared immediately with first responders. In Texas, a Tarrant County dispatch center is the first in the U.S. to use the tool and is experiencing success getting precise locations from cell phones, which is something current 911 systems can not do. This Texas dispatch center serves almost 100,000 Tarrant County residents who are encouraged to download the free app and use the 911 panic button when they need it.
