Piece by Piece: Removing the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Chihuly Chandelier

It’s welcomed guests to the Missouri Botanical Garden since 2006, but now the 20 foot tall, 2300 pound blue blown glass chandelier is coming down. The world renowned Dale Chihuly team created the 928-piece sculpture and hand selected it to hang in the Ridgway Visitor Center. But, workers will soon demolish that building to make way for a new and improved visitor and event center. So, the chandelier had to move. And, the process of relocating it is tedious and sometimes anxiety-inducing to watch.
