“Red Comet-The Short Life and Blazing Art of Sylvia Plath” by Heather Clark

Sylvia Plath is one of the best-known and respected women poets but also one of the most misunderstood. She’s perhaps most widely known for her death—she took her own life at age 30—than for her groundbreaking poetry and ambition. Author Heather Clark rewrites the biography of Plath in a new, comprehensive book “Red Comet.” Digging deep into newly-released material, Clark paints a three dimensional portrait of an ambitious and brilliant poet unwilling to sacrifice marriage and motherhood for her art.
The biography is a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
