Tick-borne diseases are on the rise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“I want people to know that the risk from ticks and tick-borne diseases are real, and they should not be neglected,” said WashU ecologist Solny Adalsteinsson, PhD.

Adalsteinsson is a senior scientist at Washington University’s Tyson Research Center. She encourages people of all ages and their pets to enjoy the summer months, with tips on safety precautions and prevention. She also advises on what to do if you discover a tick.
