Viola Shipman’s “Famous in a Small Town”

HEC Media sits down for a conversation with author Wade Rouse who writes under the pen name of his beloved Missouri Ozarks grandmother, Viola Shipman.
In his latest novel, “Famous in a Small Town,” Rouse celebrates two women of different generations who develop an unlikely friendship. Set in St. Louis, Missouri and a resort town in northern Michigan, Rouse uses his quick wit to endear us to both women who take risks and become the people they’d always dreamed of being.
In the spirit of Rouse’s popular Facebook Live literary happy hour, “Wine & Words with Wade,” every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. EST on the Viola Shipman author page, the author and host Victoria Babu hold a special literary happy hour for you to join in while you watch. Rouse is also an acclaimed writing teacher who has mentored numerous students to become published authors and shares a bit of his sage advice to aspiring writers.
