Whether it’s a simple stone or a grand mausoleum every marker in a cemetery is shorthand for a life lived. For the historic Bellefontaine Cemetery and Arboretum, it’s of utmost importance that the people resting there – and their stories – are remembered.
Voices at Bellefontaine is a series of live performances by local theater group, The Hawthorne Players. Each vignette explores St. Louis – and even international history – through the experiences of six individuals buried there. One of the highlights of this event is the actors’ talkback – where the audience can ask the performers and director questions about the characters the stories are based upon.
