Celebrate the Vote Remembers and Honors the Golden Lane

The League of Women Voters and the Missouri History Museum “Celebrate the Vote” at the Central Library in downtown St. Louis. In 1916, suffragists protested along Locust street in a silent demonstration calling for voting rights for women in what was dubbed the “Golden Lane.” The St. Louis chapter of the LWV honors this event, along with the struggles of women throughout history to win the right to vote and gain a political platform to make their voices heard.
