History Spotlight: Mother of St. Louis

    Madame Chouteau, born in 1733, was a prominent woman in St. Louis and played an influential role in the city’s founding and development. So influential in fact, that she became known as the “Mother of St. Louis.” Museum Educator Andy Primm shares her life story.
