Ever since he was seven, Jimmy Williams of Jackson, Missouri would grab his golf clubs and join his dad, James, for 36 holes of golf. His mom, Shana, says they’d always shout out, “See ya! We’re livin’ the dream!” Indeed, the tight-knit family admits they were. Their idyllic life came to a halt after a 10-year-old Jimmy became ill at a national junior golf tournament in Florida. He managed to finish in third place. What doctors diagnosed as a stomach issue turned out to be a failing heart. Within weeks, Jimmy undergoes a heart transplant. Now 14-years-old, Jimmy is back to winning junior golf tournaments and giving motivational speeches. He’s chronicled his story of adversity in his memoir, “Attitude of Grace.”
