For the first time, the musical Chess is appearing on the Muny stage through July 11th. It is a big musical, still little known in some respects, with a pop-rock score composed by two members of ABBA, with lyrics by Broadway veteran Tim Rice. Additionally, the performance is accompanied by a special exhibition and community art project sponsored by the St. louis Chess Club and the World Chess Hall of Fame based in the Central West End.
