In the quiet town of Des Peres, Missouri – just a few miles from the St. Louis Arch – there’s a crime that’s gone unsolved and unchecked for more than 10 years. With seemingly no rhyme or reason, a jar of pickles randomly appears and disappears alongside one of the busiest roads in the city.

“For the better part of a decade and potentially even longer, we’ve had somebody that’s been dropping off a jar of pickles at the overpass of 270 at Manchester Road without any rhyme or reason,” says Des Peres City Administrator Scott Schaefer. “And to this day, we still don’t know who the culprit is or why this is happening.”

Despite a decade of questions without answers, during that time, the puzzle has only grown in notoriety: making headlines in the Wall Street Journal and gathering a following on Facebook hosting its own “Team Pickle” group page with more than 29-thousand members!
