Coming at you from Cape Girardeau to St. Louis

I have already had the opportunity to capture great moments with HEC-TV.

Well, I have officially lived in St. Louis for a month now and I ‘ve noticed a few things that I am now going to bring to your attention.

First of all, you guys (and of course, ladies) are absolutely wonderful. I have not met one rude or obnoxious person – except of course on the freeway going to work – the food is amazing (toasted ravioli/t-ravs/toasted ravs) and I cannot get over how many things there are to do.

Being from a small town, I am not used to everything practically being at my fingertips: several amazing parks, so many bookstores, so many theaters and museums and of course, my favorite, so many places to eat.

Also being from a small town, I am not used to being asked everyday where I went to high school.

    “Um…Central,” I respond.

“Oh, so you’re from the Chesterfield area, then?”

What? No. I don’t even know where that came from.

Which brings me to my next point. St. Louis has so many neighborhoods! I mean, one second I’m enjoying John D. McGurks in Soulard (and I mean…yum), then somehow I end up in South Grand (your Asian cuisine is amazing), and the next thing I know it, I’m in the Grove (dancing my face off).

I think what makes all the different neighborhoods spectacular is that fact that each one feels like a different world.

Speaking of a different world…Imo’s truly is the square beyond compare. Whoever thought to put provel cheese on a pizza is an absolute genius and should be handed a plaque. (If this has not already happened, consider it my next undertaking. Sorry Crown Candy…I’ve heard you’re a must see, but you will have to wait. Better yet, I will be presenting my plaque at Crown Candy to Imo’s, while sipping on a “to-die-for” chocolate malt. We’re one big happy family, right?)

Even though I plan on eating as much Imo’s as I can and stuffing my face with chocolate malts from Crown Candy, I will take part in the epic adventure of the St. Louis City museum. I mean, common. Any slide having the name of “Monster Slide” is a must for me.

Hopefully after going down the – 12-story – slide, I will then figure out what the Verizon Amphitheater is all about. Or is it Riverport? Or is it the UMB Bank Pavilion?

Even though I am still constantly asking myself questions about your fantastic city (should I take 270 to 40 to 70 to 64?) I am in love with it and I hope you join me in my journey in St. Louis and here at Higher Education Chanel TV.
