The Saint Louis University Museum of Art (SLUMA) and the Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) currently have on view two works by photographer Tom Kiefer. Kiefer uses a blend of fine art and documentary photography to capture items once belonged to migrants and were discarded by the United States border patrol in Arizona. Kiefer worked as a janitor there for many years and collected the items. He claims this was his “destiny” to collect and capture these personal items.
