Intern with The Higher Education Channel (HEC-TV)!

     

    The Higher Education Channel (HEC-TV) is in search of eager, hard-working interns that want to learn about and apply their skills and talents to support HEC-TV’s work in production, community engagement, and educational broadcasting. All internships require a minimum of a 12 hour per week semester-long commitment. Interns support the HEC-TV Staff in all aspects of station management from videography, editing, writing, promotion, and station operations. Individuals must have both talent and interest in working with a wide range of stakeholders, organizing information, and preparing documents and resources for meetings, events, and interactive learning experiences.     We’re accepting applications for both the Fall/Winter and Spring semesters, and will be accepting applications on an ongoing basis. Applications will be reviewed as soon as they are received. This internship is unpaid, though college credit is an option, and open to freshmen through seniors.

    Requirements:

    Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college or university in communications, film, broadcasting, marketing, journalism, education, community engagement, video production, writing or a similar field

    Strong written, verbal and communication skills

    Competent in using social media to generate interest and awareness

    Overall web and computer confidence (uploading files, navigating web sites, Microsoft Office, etc.)

    Proficient with iOS platforms and basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro or other video editing software beneficial but not required

    Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask

    Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines

    Must be dependable and team-oriented

    Duties for Interns of HEC-TV include:

    Assist with live shows

    Assist with deliveries, phone calls, and day to day station operations

    Assist with station shoots and appearance releases

    Assist with station marketing efforts

    Assist with HEC-TV Live! Pre-Production and Production efforts

    Assist with HEC-TV Community Events Calendar

    Assist with studio and equipment bookings

    Serve as Street Team for HEC-TV events

    Attend Show meetings

    Production work and other duties as assigned
