Paul Schankman hosts the show from Foundry Art Centre in historic downtown St. Charles. A facility that was once a 1940’s train car factory is now a place for artists to find inspiration and the community to discover great art.

“We recorded this month’s State of the Arts from Foundry Art Centre because it is a place where artists truly connect with the community,” said Producer Kathy Bratkowski.

“My creativity springs from a sense of fascination with people and a delight in life,” said Foundry studio artist Laura Lloyd. “During the creative processes of painting and sculpture, as well: a hidden awareness of myself and the atmosphere of my life. When each symbolic piece of art is finished, I am ready for it to leave home and go out into the world.”

This was an ideal place for HEC-TV to host State of the Arts; the Foundry reinforces what the show is all about: bringing the community together to celebrate art and culture in our region.
