African Modernism in America at the Kemper Art Museum

African Modernism in America is the first exhibition of its kind to specifically examine this distinctive era in art and African history. Visitors will see a thought provoking selection of work, primarily from Fisk University’s remarkable collection, exploring the complex relationships between African artists and American patrons, civil rights, decolonization, and modernization.
This exhibit continues at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum through August 6, 2023. To learn more please visit www.kemperartmuseum.wustl.edu.
