Segregation By Design

Segregation By Design is the newest exhibit at St. Louis Public Library’s Central location.

The exhibition showcases student research and design proposals from an interdisciplinary seminar that was offered jointly by Washington University in St. Louis and Harris-Stowe State University. There are 6 different presentations on display, each featuring an analysis of a different area neighborhood and offering a specially tailored mitigation plan. Professors Mark Abbott of Harris-Stowe and Catalina Freixas of Washington University, explain how this exhibit illustrates many different forms of segregation and how there isn’t a universal quick-fix to this problem.
The exhibit is open through January 8th.
